Where to eatOur small Mánacatush Tea-Room is a must. Open, like the farm, from 10 am to 7 pm, it is in the northwest wing of the original Bridges house, it is a small, rustic tea room with views of Harberton Bay (Mánacatush is a general name for the bay). We serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate, home-made cakes, cookies and desserts, recipes which have become a family tradition. For lunch (12:00-3:30 pm), we offer our special 'Harberton soup, really a thick stew, as well as the cook's choice for the day, made with our own meat and vegetables. (We have no more sheep, so do not serve lamb.) The Tea Room is small; we cannot accept very large groups. Please make reservations in advance (estanciaharberton@gmail.com). The walls of the Tea Room are lined with posters of the flora, native groups, about the original Bridges, Lawrence and Goodall families. Books are on sale and newspaper articles about the family can be persued while you enjoy the scenery. Parrilla Acawaia. A new building on a hill overlooking the homestead, with gorgeous views of mountains, bay and the sea beyond. The menu includes parrillada (roasted meats served on a hot grill), salad, dessert, coffee. Concession: PiraTour. www.piratour.com.ar. Call to check if they are open and to make a booking. |
